Job summary

The City of Winters Police Department seeks a Community Services Officer I/II to support law enforcement and code enforcement efforts. The role blends office tasks, field work, and community interaction, rewarding those with strong customer service and public service commitment.

Training and advancement are available across Records, Investigations, Property & Evidence, Crime Prevention, Patrol, and Code Compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bilingual abilities preferred.
• Two years of experience in the field or related area encouraged for CSO II.
• CSO II requires knowledge of department procedures and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist Records with reports, fingerprints, and confidential files.
• Support Property & Evidence handling, chain of custody, and inventory.
• Contribute to Crime Prevention by developing materials and engaging communities.
• Perform Patrol support, traffic control, and incident reporting as needed.
• Contribute to Crime Analysis by collecting data and assisting with statistics.
• Enforce Parking and Code Compliance in assigned areas.
