Job summary

The City of Winters is seeking a part-time, limited-term Community Services Officer I to assist with law related office duties and field work. This entry-level role provides supervision and opportunities to support crime prevention and community programs.

Duties include answering phones, handling records, crime statistics, traffic control at events, and parking enforcement under California Vehicle Code. Graduation from high school and bilingual abilities preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Records: Answer telephones and provide counter assistance to the public.
  • Property & Evidence: Assist in the collection, preservation and transportation of evidence.
  • Crime Prevention: Develop program outlines and materials for presentations to neighborhood and community groups.
  • Patrol: Perform traffic control at special events or incidents.
  • Crime Analysis: Assist in producing monthly, quarterly and yearly crime statistics reports.
  • Parking Enforcement: Issue citations or warning notices for California Vehicle Code or City Ordinance parking violations.
