Job summary

Valley Health System is seeking a Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) to join Surgical Services. The CSFA works under a surgeon to ensure safe, efficient operative care and sterile technique in the operating room.

Required are a CST or surgical technology credential, 5 years CST experience or 2 years in a first-assist role, and NBSTSA certification with BLS/HCP readiness. Virginia license may be needed depending on location. Comprehensive benefits accompany the position.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology course or certified surgical assistant.
• Five years CST experience or two years as first assist.
• Credentialing and BLS/HCP certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate safe occurrence of invasive surgical procedures under a surgeon's supervision.
• Ensure operating room safety, equipment functionality, and patient safety.
• Demonstrate sterile/aseptic technique and assist with exposure, hemostasis, and procedures.
