Job summary

KBR is seeking a Lead Engineer (CSE) to provide technical and operational leadership for the process control system scope, including DCS, telecoms, instrumentation, and process analyzer for large oil and gas projects. The role requires directing engineering design and interfacing with multiple disciplines to meet objectives.

Ideal candidates will have 10+ years in industrial settings, 5+ years in control-systems leadership, and a PE/P.Eng. license is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in industrial oil & gas, refining or petrochemicals.

Responsibilities

• Drive projects from development to execution with cost/schedule control.
• Influence internal and external resources through relationship building.
• Manage engineering design execution per specs and standards.
• Ensure project objectives on cost, schedule and scope.
• Prepare cost budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
• Create work scopes and construction packages with docs.
• Identify and manage project risks and safety reviews.
• Develop spare parts lists and requisitions.
• Report on cost and schedule attainment.
• Resolve technical and commercial issues with stakeholders.
• Coordinate with leadership, engineers, designers, and procurement.
• Ensure all project documentation is complete.

KBR is looking for a CSE – Lead Engineer who will be responsible for the technical and operation leadership of the process control system scope including DCS, telecommunications, instrumentation, and process analyzer for medium to large oil and gas, refining and petrochemical projects.

Job Posting Description:

Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Drive projects in various stages, from development to execution, with an eye for managing cost, scope, schedule, and internal reporting requirements
• Use strong organizational savvy and relationship building skills to influence both internal and external resources
• Under broad direction, this individual has the responsibility, accountability, and authority to manage the execution of the engineering design in accordance with applicable specifications and standards to achieve project objectives
• Assures projects meet project objectives, including cost, schedule, and scope
• Ensures accurate cost budgeting, estimating, forecasting, and reporting of assigned projects
• Provides clear, accurate scopes of work and construction packages including documentation
• Analyzes and manages risks on projects
• Facilitates safety and constructability reviews
• Creates requisitions for engineered items and development of spare parts list
• Reports on cost (including forecasting) and schedule attainment
• Communicates and resolves technical and commercial issues as related to project objectives
• Successfully communicates with leadership, engineers, designers, document control, procurement, project controls, and all other departments
• Ensures all project documentation is completed

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

• 10+ years of industrial oil & gas, refining, petrochemical, or heavy industries experience
• 5+ years of experience in technical control systems leadership
• Total Minimum 10 years of experience
• PE or P.Eng. strongly preferred
• Experience developing process control specifications and control system design
• Experience leading initiatives and managing suppliers
• Demonstrated experience in process control systems and network architectures : DCS, PLC, SIS, BMS
• Demonstrated experience in instrumentation
• Experience with electrical schematic drawings, logic diagrams, and panel schedules
• Knowledge of and exposure to telecoms, cyber security, and process analyzer engineering.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
• Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing project challenges.
• Attention to detail and the ability to ensure project documentation is accurate and up to date.
