Job summary

KYOCERA AVX Components Corporation in Erie, PA is seeking an entry-level assembler for quartz crystal components. You will read parts lists, drawings and instructions to assemble and inspect products to tight specifications.

This role requires basic math, attention to detail, and willingness to work in a clean room environment with PPE; prior lab or clean room experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and work instructions.
• Ability to read measuring devices and perform assembly tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assemble products by reading and interpreting parts lists, drawings and instructions.
• Perform quality assurance inspections to ensure compliance with work instructions and drawings.
• Position components by hand or using small hand tools (crimpers, pliers, tweezers, screw drivers).
• Operate simple equipment occasionally.
• Provide support across different workstations to meet production demands.
• PPE required in Clean Room/Chem Lab and maintained at all times.
• Maintain concentration and shift attention between varied duties.

Job description

Prepare, assemble and inspect quartz crystals and associated materials for production, ensuring all components meet precise specifications and quality standards.

REPORTS TO: Manufacturing Manager

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assemble a wide assortment of products/components by reading and interpreting parts lists, drawings and written and verbal instructions.
  
• Perform comprehensive quality assurance procedures and inspections to ensure compliance with work instructions and drawings.
  
• Positions components by hand or by utilizing a variety of small hand tools, such as crimpers, pliers, tweezers, or screw drivers.
  
• Operate simple equipment occasionally.
  
• Provide support across different workstations to meet productions demands.
  
• Tasks performed in Clean Room/Chem Lab require specific PPE to be worn properly at all times.
  
• Requires strong concentration and focus for repetitive tasks combined with the ability to shift attention between varied duties.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED is required
  
• Basic computer skills, including the ability to work within a variety of Microsoft Office products and other computer software applications
  
• Demonstrated proficiency in basic mathematics and the ability to read and interpret measuring devices to perform assembly tasks.
  Ability to read and comprehend work instructions

Prior experience in a lab or clean room, use of a microscope, and familiarity with various chemicals is a plus.
