Job summary

The U.S. Navy is seeking Cryptologic Technicians Interpretive (CTIs), skilled linguists who collect, translate, transcribe and analyze foreign language communications to inform national security and military operations.

CTIs work with classified materials, support shore-based centers and may deploy aboard ships and submarines. After initial training, CTIs undergo language and cryptologic training to develop technical and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate advanced radio receivers, recording devices, computer terminals and communications systems.
• Translate, interpret and transcribe foreign language communications data.
• Analyze and report highly technical intelligence for fleet commanders and national intelligence agencies.
• Work with classified material and advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning systems.
• Perform temporary duty aboard Navy surface ships and submarines, based on assignment requirements.
