Job summary

Qualtrics is seeking a Cryptography Architect to lead design and implementation of cryptographic frameworks securing our platforms and customer data. You will drive post-quantum readiness, modern key management, and secure protocol design across teams.

You’ll mentor engineers, shape standards, and oversee large cryptography initiatives while collaborating with product, security, and data science to maintain trust and resilience at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of cryptography or security architecture experience.
• Strong understanding of cryptographic primitives and protocols (symmetric/asymmetric, hashing, signatures, TLS/PKI).
• Hands-on knowledge of key management and standards (NIST SP 800-57, FIPS 140-2/140-3, post-quantum).
• Experience leading large cryptography initiatives and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strategic mindset to align cryptography with business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead research, evaluation, and implementation of post-quantum crypto and modern key management.
• Perform security reviews of cryptographic designs and integrations across products.
• Own the key management architecture: generation, rotation, escrow, destruction, and KMS/HSM integration.
• Develop cryptography standards and reference architectures grounded in NIST and other frameworks.
• Shape security strategy and manage large, cross-functional projects end-to-end.
• Mentor colleagues to build a high-performing cryptography team.
