Job summary

SoFi is seeking a Staff Cryptography Engineer to lead enterprise readiness for post-quantum cryptography and long-term cryptographic resilience. This role partners with security, engineering, infrastructure, product, and business teams to assess, modernize, and strengthen cryptographic controls.

You will build cryptographic inventories and guide teams through quantum-resistant and crypto-agile solutions. The ideal candidate has deep applied cryptography expertise, strong engineering judgment,

Qualifications

• 8+ years in security engineering, product security, cryptography, or related security discipline.
• Experience with post-quantum cryptography, crypto-agility, or cryptographic migration planning.
• Hands-on expertise in cryptographic algorithms, SSL/TLS, PKI, keys, and secure protocol design.

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts to improve enterprise cryptographic posture with focus on post-quantum readiness.
• Build and maintain inventory of cryptographic assets (keys, certificates, algorithms, protocols, libraries).
• Collaborate with product, engineering, infrastructure, cloud and security teams to identify dependencies and remediation needs.
• Provide guidance on SSL/TLS, PKI, key management, and secure protocol usage.
• Define cryptographic standards and implementation guidance for engineering teams.
• Assess quantum-related risks and certificate lifecycle management.
