Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) invites a Crypto Associate to join our digital asset team, collaborating with professionals recognized as authorities in the ecosystem. You’ll help clients manage risk, underwrite opportunities, and create value across fast-moving sectors.

Working with senior team members, you will build financial models, conduct due diligence, and develop market analyses while contributing to client deliverables.

Qualifications

• 2 to 3 years of work experience in investment or commercial banking, consulting, or a corporate role with a financial or analytical focus.
• BA/BS degree and/or MBA/MS in Accounting, Finance, or other related analytical fields.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills a must.
• Professional certifications such as CPA or CFA preferred.
• Demonstrated interest in digital assets and the broader crypto ecosystem.
• Familiarity with restructuring or Chapter 11 concepts is a plus.
• Strong financial modeling skills, including 3-statement models; 13-week cash flow forecasts a plus.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; client interactions.

• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Conduct defined operational and financial due diligence analyses on digital asset businesses, counterparties, and transactions.
• Build financial models and analyses to support underwriting, risk assessment, and investment or credit decisions.
• Develop business intelligence and market analysis across protocols, tokens, exchanges, and other ecosystem participants.
• Analyze data and identify revenue enhancement and performance improvement opportunities for clients.
• Support strategy engagements through analyses related to market entry, product assessment, and operating model design.
• Contribute analyses to restructuring and turnaround work for distressed crypto-native businesses.
• Assist with research, analysis, and pitch/proposal preparation for business development.
• Own discrete analyses and deliverables within a project workstream and incorporate feedback from seniors.
