Job summary

Chart, Inc. in Canton, GA seeks a Mechanical Engineer to own design, documentation, and support for LNG and H2 vehicle fuel systems.

You will manage bills of materials, engineering drawings, and changes through the ECR process, using 3D CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Inventor, and SolidWorks. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability, evaluate tooling needs, and support production with technical inquiries while maintaining ISO 9001, TS 16949, and IATF 16949

Qualifications

• BS degree required, preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• Ideal candidate has experience in the heavy truck or automotive industry as an OEM supplier or OEM manufacturer.

Responsibilities

• Design, documentation and support for LNG & H2 vehicle fuel systems.
• Manage structures, bills of materials and manufacturing drawings.
• Initiate and manage changes via Engineering Change Request process.
• Make changes in design/drawings using 3D CAD software.
• Provide technical information and specifications for components, assemblies and final products.
• Follow a 5-phase release process for new product introduction (APQP).
• Support interdepartmental teams to evaluate manufacturability and improve production efficiency.
• Provide manufacturing support to resolve production problems.
• Support engineering documentation for technical inquiries from customers.
• Define specifications to suppliers for new products or special customer projects.
• Work to ensure ISO 9001, TS 16949 and IATF 16949 compliance.
• Involvement in relevant standards organizations (ISO, NFPA, SAE etc.).
• Observe and practice safety procedures and policies.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
