Job summary

Airgas is hiring a Plant Engineer for its cryogenic Air Separation Unit (ASU) in Mebane, NC. You will design, specify, and lead projects to improve safety, reliability, and efficiency, utilizing instruments, controls, engines, and mechanical systems.

The role collaborates with operations to optimize workflows and supports plant production and maintenance. Preferred candidates hold a BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with 2–5 years of engineering experience and the ability to provide

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of operational or project engineering experience required.
• Ability to provide on-call technical assistance to plant personnel.

Responsibilities

• Design, specify and guide projects with mindful budget management to improve safety, reliability, or efficiency.
• Evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions and foster continuous improvement.
• Set up tests of complete units under operational conditions and adjust equipment to meet specifications.
• Partner with operations to enhance facility workflows and support overall operational performance.
• Provide technical support for plant production and maintenance as required.
