Airgas, Inc. in Mebane, NC is seeking a Plant Engineer to design and implement projects for a cryogenic Air Separation Unit (ASU) to improve safety, reliability, and efficiency. The role requires handling instruments, controls, engines, and various systems while aligning with safety and process management practices.

The candidate should have a B.S. in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical) and 2–5 years of operational or project engineering experience, with on-call technical assistance

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical) preferred.
• 2-5 years of operational or project engineering experience required.
• Ability to provide on-call technical assistance to plant personnel.

Responsibilities

• Designs plant processes consisting of instruments, controls, engines, machines, and mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, or heat transfer systems.
• Proposes collaborative solutions to optimize value and efficiency in production methods and material cost.
• Evaluates field installations and recommends design modifications to eliminate malfunctions and foster continuous improvement.
• Sets up and conducts tests of complete units under operational conditions and analyzes test results to meet specifications.
• Provides technical support for plant production and maintenance as required.
