Job summary

Blue Origin, based in Florida, seeks an experienced Liquids Cryogenic Hardware Design Engineer to own the full lifecycle of cryogenic propulsion fluid systems for Lunar Transporter hardware. You will define requirements, drive design reviews, procure components, and deliver drawings and verification packages for mission-critical hardware operating in extreme environments.

A strong background in aerospace propulsion and P&ID interpretation is essential.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or related field).
• 8+ years designing aerospace propulsion and cryogenic fluid systems.
• Expertise in cryogenic components (valves, regulators, pumps).
• Experience in cryogenic fluid system sizing analysis and selection.
• Experience creating and interpreting P&IDs and fabrication drawings.

Responsibilities

• Define & Own Requirements – lead component requirement definition for lunar environments and evaluate solutions.
• Drive Design Reviews – present designs to cross-functional teams and defend decisions.
• Specify & Procure – work with suppliers to source cryogenic components for lunar missions.
• Execute the Full Cycle – design refinement through build, test, and delivery for lunar hardware.
• Document Excellence – generate drawings, P&IDs, and verification packages to standards.
• Lead Problem Solving – perform structural/fluid analyses in lunar thermal/vacuum environments.
