Job summary

Airgas, Inc. in Salt Lake City is seeking a Cryogenic Field Service Technician to install and service on-site nitrogen generation plants and bulk gas systems at customer sites and Airgas facilities.

You will perform installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of cryogenic equipment, read diagrams, and ensure safety protocols are followed. A high school diploma/GED and 3 years of relevant experience are required, plus travel and valid work authorization in the U.S.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• You will need a minimum of three years of relevant work experience.
• Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Capability to write routine reports and professional correspondence.
• Experience and good skills with troubleshooting.
• Valid Drivers license is needed.
• Experience with operating a forklift and maintaining the necessary certifications.
• Will need to pass required testing and obtain Medical Certificate and Brazing License.
• Ability to travel with overnight stays.
• Experience in the safe operation of both electrical and manual hand tools.
• Ability to read, interpret, and produce detailed process diagrams for customer sites.
• Professional communication with customers and vendors; must maintain a professional appearance.
• Ability to read and interpret MSDS, safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and P&ID's.

Responsibilities

• Supports the installation and upkeep of nitrogen on-site generation equipment.
• Supports cryogenic bulk installations both at Airgas facilities and customer sites.
• Restores and optimizes pressure reduction equipment associated with bulk delivery systems.
• Evaluates and provides solutions for electrical systems associated with N2 generation and cryogenic installations, including motor controls and relays, low/high pressure and liquid level alarms.
• Installs decals and warning signs for hazards and ownership.
• Performs installation of piping systems in accordance with company SOPs.
• Performs Site Surveys to align with codes.
• Maintains a secure environment and protective fencing around installations.
• Performs periodic preventative maintenance tasks on N2 generation equipment.
• Performs annual inspections of all bulk installation sites for operation quality.
• Champions safety policies and maintains a secure workplace.
• Maintains an appropriate stock of parts to restore typical installations.
