Job summary

Airgas in Kalamazoo, MI seeks a Cryogenic Field Service Technician to install and service nitrogen generation plants and bulk gas systems. You will collaborate on on-site equipment installations, optimize pressure reduction systems, and perform periodic maintenance per PM schedules while adhering to NFPA standards and safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Brazer certificate within 30 days of employment preferred.
• HVAC or refrigeration certification a plus.
• ASSE Medical Gas credentials are a plus.
• Two years of industrial field service experience preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of NFPA 99 and NFPA 55 recommended.
• Ability to read blueprints and specifications.
• Experience with cryogenic equipment and piping is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Install and service nitrogen generation plants and cryogenic systems.
• Collaborate on on-site nitrogen generation equipment installation.
• Support cryogenic bulk installations at Airgas facilities and customer sites.
• Restore and optimize pressure reduction equipment for bulk delivery systems.
• Perform electrical system improvements and motor controls checks.
• Conduct site surveys for code compliance.
• Maintain safety and proper labeling of hazards and warnings.
• Perform periodic preventive maintenance and annual site evaluations.
• Read, interpret manufacturing drawings and safety documents.
• Assist team and handle multiple tasks as needed.
