Job summary

Envision Unlimited in Chicago, IL is seeking a Certified Recovery Support Specialist (Peer Support) to join our Community Support Team (CST).

This full-time role leverages lived experience to support adults with serious mental illness, develop recovery-oriented plans, and connect clients to housing, benefits, and wellness resources.

We value person-centered, strengths-based approaches, crisis support skills, and reliable documentation to help people regain independence and stability.

Qualifications

• Lived experience with mental health recovery and willingness to share.
• High School Diploma or GED; CRSS credential required or in progress.
• At least 1 year of experience in behavioral health or social services.

Responsibilities

• Use your lived experience to support, mentor, and empower adults with serious mental illness.
• Provide person-centered, strengths-based community support in real-world settings.
• Support clients in building skills for independent living and accessing resources.
• Assist in crisis support, safety planning, and de-escalation with compassion.
• Maintain accurate documentation and meet productivity goals.
