Job summary

Metropolitan Family Services is seeking a CCBHC Certified Recovery Support Specialist to empower clients through peer support, WRAP planning, and connecting them with essential mental health and community resources. The role emphasizes collaboration with clinical staff and community partners to promote holistic care.

The position requires lived recovery experience, a CRSS/CPRS credential within 12 months, and a commitment to HIPAA-compliant documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or above, required.
• Personal experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery, required.
• Must hold or be eligible to obtain the CRSS or CPRS credential within 12 months of hire, required.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• WRAP facilitator experience preferred (implied).

Responsibilities

• Build trusting relationships with clients using appropriate self-disclosure of recovery journey.
• Assist clients in accessing services within the CCBHC and externally.
• Help clients develop WRAP plans and identify personal strengths for treatment.
• Provide information on mental illness, recovery, and resources to clients and families.
• Serve as a bridge between clients and the clinical team to inform care decisions.
• Educate the community about CCBHC services and facilitate warm hand-offs.
• Document interactions in HIPAA-compliant EHR records.
• Support clients and their identified supports in understanding health issues and outcomes.
• Collaborate with the team to provide full spectrum of services including mental health and substance use treatment.
