Job summary

Washington State Office of Civil Legal Aid (OCLA) seeks an experienced attorney to join the Children’s Representation Program as the CRP Oversight Manager. The role reports to the CRP Director and leads supervising attorneys, regional trainings, and contract oversight.

You will develop training materials, manage attorney contractors, and support program-wide improvements while advancing equity commitments and trauma-informed representation for dependent children and youth.

Qualifications

• Licensed member in good standing of the Washington State Bar Association.
• At least 3 years’ experience in child welfare law (as attorney, GAL, judge, etc.).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent legal analysis skills.
• Ability to manage and prioritize tasks and exercise sound judgment.
• Commitment to professional collaboration and program improvement.
• Ability and willingness to present information to diverse audiences (attorneys, judges, social workers).
• Commitment to promoting standards-based, culturally sensitive, equity-informed representation for dependent children and youth.
• Willingness to embrace OCLA’s Race, Equity & Justice Initiative (REJI) commitments.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support CRP Managing Attorneys.
• Lead special projects with broad programmatic impact.
• Oversee special service contracts and interagency agreements.
• Create and present training and resource materials for external partners.
• Lead regional trainings and practice improvement opportunities for the CRP panel.
• Identify and elevate programmatically significant information to the CRP Director.
• Assist in recruitment and onboarding of Managing Attorneys and contractors.
• Supplement or backfill Managing Attorney functions as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
