Job summary

Southern Champion Tray LLC in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a Utility Operator for finishing on the day shift (3 days/12 hours). The role supports the Gluer and Die Shop areas, with cross-training across Web Cutting and Baler operations. Strong attention to safety, quality, and teamwork is expected.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and basic English literacy; some computer skills are required. Day shift availability at the Amnicola Plant is essential for this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; one to three months related experience or training preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, and understand English; basic computer skills needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as back-up for key positions to ensure continuous operation.
• Train across multiple departments including Web Cutting, Die Shop, Stock Puller and Baler Operation.
• Assist in Die Shop operations: pin cylinder prep, die chasing loading/unloading, die maintenance, inventory of die components.
• Maintain and troubleshoot Web Cutter(s), Gluers, In-Line Window Machines, and related automation.
• Drive daily performance of equipment and address safety, quality, and efficiency gaps.
• Communicate with shift operators, supervisors, and mechanics as needed.
• Adhere to operating standards in the Training Program and support continuous improvement.
• Ensure a clean work environment per Food Safety, Kanban and 5S.
