Job summary

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent; medical terminology preferred.
• Must become certified in all PAS functions within 1 year of hire.
• Typing 25-30 words per minute and pass clerical examination.
• Previous experience in hospital admissions, business office or physician’s office preferred.
• Pass internal certification examinations after training.

Responsibilities

• Register outpatient and inpatient; hospital cashiering and insurance verification.
• Ensure patients meet financial requirements.
• Provide information to hospital users, patients and families.
• Communicate with service delivery areas to maximise patient flow and customer service.
• Provide excellent patient-focused customer service.
