Job summary

Southern Company Gas is seeking a Construction Operations Cross Bore Program Coordinator to oversee safe and compliant execution of cross bore prevention during trenchless installations. You will manage sewer inspection contractors and partner with operations to strengthen safety, quality, and process performance.

The role requires a degree in construction, business, or engineering, a valid driver’s license, and at least three years in sewer inspections or gas utility construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in sewer inspections, natural gas utility construction, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Construction Cross Bore Prevention process per Plan-Do-Check-Act to meet standards.
• Liaise with sewer inspection contractors, Construction Operations, and other departments to mitigate cross bore risks.
• Investigate and address potential cross bores per company requirements.
• Maintain updates in GIS Cross Bore Application and other systems.
• Oversee day-to-day execution: project ID, inspection assignment, contractor coordination, completion tracking.
• Manage sewer inspection activities with cost, schedule, quality, and performance tracking.
• Review data to identify trends and propose corrective actions.
• Participate in probable cause analysis for failed processes or cross bore incidents.
• Support contractor management: PO management, invoicing, access, and deliverable tracking.
• Participate in teams focused on continuous improvement, safety, quality, and compliance.
• Collaborate to advance cross bore prevention initiatives and risk management.
