Job summary

Lamex Foods, Inc. in Bloomington, MN is seeking an International Logistics Specialist - Imports to coordinate shipments domestically and cross-border.

You will work closely with suppliers, carriers and the Sales team to ensure accurate documentation and timely delivery while controlling costs. Responsibilities include evaluating trade lanes, negotiating rates, tracking shipments from origin to destination, and maintaining up-to-date shipment data in the system.

Qualifications

• 4-year college degree in International Business, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in related field preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt, problem solve and prioritize.
• Readiness to work with all styles of management.
• Eagerness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate shipments/traffic flow domestically and across USA borders.
• Ensure accuracy of documents prior to submission.
• Fulfill contractual purchase and sale terms in a cost-effective manner.
• Liaise with suppliers, steamship lines, brokers, and government agencies.
• Maintain loading and delivery appointments with trucking carriers.
• Raise proforma/commercial invoices and credits.
• Review and recover costs for escalated vendor invoices.
• Track shipments from origin to destination.
• Participate in training to stay updated on company protocol.
• Ensure shipment data and internal notes are up to date.
• Use internal stock system for inventory reporting and discrepancies.
• Communicate with Import Manager to address inquiries.
• Support Compliance Manager during audits.

Education

4-year college degree in International Business, or related field preferred

2+ years of experience in related field preferred
