Job summary

Prime St Marys Hospital in Kankakee, IL, is seeking a CRNA to provide comprehensive anesthesia care within a 4-operating room setting alongside physicians and CRNAs. The role emphasizes team collaboration and voice in patient care decisions.

The position offers a 1 week on / 1 week off schedule with no call and light beeper call. A competitive salary is provided along with a generous sign-on incentive and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Current license as a Registered Nurse.
• Graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia program.
• Certified or recertified by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive anesthesia care across surgical procedures.
• Perform pre-anesthesia evaluations and obtain informed consent.
• Develop and discuss anesthetic plans with patients.
• Manage induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia.
• Monitor patient condition and perform required interventions.
• Support departmental coordination and clinical leadership.

PRIME St. Mary’s Kankakee has a state-of-the‑art Family Birthing Center dedicated to expectant and new parents. Working together in a collegial environment, the anesthesia team provides services for four operating rooms daily. These clinicians include two medical doctors and five CRNAs working in our care team model. This care team model means that we focus on ensuring that everyone has a voice while supporting, respecting, and helping to deliver care excellence.

Case Assignments & Schedule

• Schedule: 1 week on / 1 week off
• No call – light beeper call available
• Ortho, GI, Urology, and General Surgery; opportunity to perform peripheral nerve blocks

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive anesthesia care across surgical procedures

• Develop and discuss anesthetic plans with patients
• Manage induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
• Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition and perform interventions as needed
• Support departmental coordination and clinical leadership

Requirements

• Current license as a registered professional nurse
• Graduation from an accredited program of nurse anesthesia education
• Certified or recertified by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists
