Job summary

OhioHealth is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to perform preanesthesia assessments, develop anesthesia plans, and deliver general, regional, and local anesthesia with postanesthesia care. The role includes on-call coverage as required and collaborative practice supervised by a physician in compliance with Ohio law.

The position is in the Anesthesiology department with daytime hours and a 40-hour work week, located within the OhioHealth health system.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved nursing program and hold Ohio RN licensure.
• Graduate from an anesthesia program accredited by AANA.
• Pass the AANA certification exam and maintain licensure.

Responsibilities

• Perform preanesthetic assessments and document findings.
• Develop and implement anesthetic plans (general/ regional/ local).
• Administer anesthetics and related drugs and fluids.
• Monitor and manage patient status during anesthesia and recovery.
• Provide postanesthesia care and follow-up evaluations.
• Respond to emergencies and provide on-call coverage as required.
• Collaborate with physicians per Ohio law.

Job Description Summary:

To perform and document preanesthestic assessment and evaluations of patients. Develop and implement anesthetic plans. To initiate the anesthetic technique to include general, regional, local and sedation. Provide continuous evaluation of patient's physical status. Select, obtain and administer anesthetics and other drugs and fluids. Discharge patients from postanesthesia care and provide follow up evaluation. Respond to emergency situations. Provide on call coverage as required. All services provided will be supervised by a Physician as required by Ohio law.

Responsibilities And Duties:

1. Perform and document preanesthestic assessment and evaluation.
2. Provide general, regional, local and sedation coverage.
3. Select, obtain and administer anesthetics and other drugs.
4. Facilitate emergency and recovery from anesthesia.
5. Provide postanesthesia care.
6. Implement acute and chronic pain management modalities.
7. Respond to emergency situations.
8. Provide on call coverage as required by the department.

Additional Job Description:

Graduate from an approved school of nursing and hold current Ohio licensure as a registered nurse. Graduate from a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the AANA Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs or its predecessor. Complete the AANA Certification examination. Comply with criteria for biennial re Certification as defined by AANA to include current licensure as a registered nurse, active practice as a CRNA, appropriate continuing and verification of the absence of mental, physical or other problems which could interfere with the practice of Anesthesia.
