Job summary

Northwest Indiana Healthcare Provider is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for a full-time, permanent role in East Chicago, IN. Expect a weekday schedule from 7am to 3:30pm with on-call rotations in the evenings, weekends, and holidays. Competitive hourly rates are offered with additional 1099 pay.

Relocation assistance available. Responsibilities include pre-anesthetic assessments, anesthesia planning, airway management, intraoperative care, and post-anesthesia follow-up

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia educational program
• Current state registered nurse license
• Current state advanced practice nurse prescriber license
• Board Certified or Board Eligible by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Proficiency with Epic EMR systems preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform and document pre-anesthetic assessment and evaluation
• Participate in call rotation with physicians; weeknights, weekends and holidays as scheduled
• Develop anesthesia care plans based on patient history and surgical needs
• Select, obtain and administer anesthetic, adjuvant, and fluids
• Manage patient airway and pulmonary status including ventilation
• Facilitate emergence and recovery from anesthesia
• Provide post-anesthesia follow-up care and evaluate responses
• Support multiple ORs and GI/Cath/IR suites
• Handle daily patient volume per case complexity
• Contribute to quality improvement and department meetings
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff; maintain safety and infection control
