Job summary

The University of Maryland Faculty Physicians seeks a CRNA to deliver anesthesia care in collaboration with anesthesiologists, surgeons and a broad healthcare team. The role supports education, safety, quality, and research missions within the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

CRNAs care for patients across ages and acuities, with opportunities in general and Shock Trauma ORs, obstetrics and regional anesthesia.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing and accredited nurse anesthesia program.
• RN license and APRN recognition required.
• CRNA certification at employment start date; ACLS and BLS current.

Responsibilities

• Provides pre-anesthetic preparation and patient evaluation; discusses diagnostic studies and consent.
• Develops and implements individualized anesthesia plan; administers anesthesia and manages regional techniques as needed.
• Provides anesthesia induction, ventilation, emergence, and post-anesthesia care.
• Monitors patient status with current perioperative standards.
• Communicates changes in patient condition to supervising staff.
