Job summary

University of Maryland Faculty Physicians, Inc. is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

The CRNA collaborates with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other providers to deliver high-quality anesthesia and pain care, while contributing to education, safety, quality, and research missions. Salary range is $235,000 to $277,000 with a comprehensive total rewards package.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing and accredited nurse anesthesia program.
• CRNA certification by AANA by employment start date.
• ACLS and BLS current.
• NPI and Taxonomy code required at time of hire.
• Two years anesthesia care experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provides pre-anesthetic preparation and patient evaluation; obtains informed consent.
• Develops and implements individualized anesthesia plan; administers/anesthetizes as planned; may perform regional anesthesia.
• Provides anesthesia induction, ventilation, emergence, and post-anesthesia care.
• Monitors patient peri-anesthetic status using current standards.
• Manages fluids, electrolytes, and acid-base balance; reports changes to attending.
• Responds to emergencies with airway management and ACLS/BLS protocols.
