Job summary

The University of Maryland Medical System is seeking a Master’s prepared CRNA to provide anesthetic care in collaboration with anesthesiologists, surgeons and other clinicians at UM Rehab & Ortho Institute. This role spans pre-anesthetic assessment through post-anesthesia care across perioperative settings.

Responsibilities include selecting anesthesia techniques (general, regional, local and IV sedation), managing airways, monitoring, and providing post-anesthesia follow-up.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nurse anesthesia from an accredited program
• Current Maryland RN licensure to practice nursing and nurse anesthesia
• NBCRNA certification or recertification in good standing
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications on active status
• 3–5 years of relevant CRNA experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Pre-anesthetic assessment and evaluation with informed consent
• Develop age-appropriate, culturally sensitive anesthetic plan
• Administer general, regional, local anesthesia or IV sedation
• Manage airway and ventilation; monitor hemodynamics
• Post-anesthesia care and follow-up management
• Administer pain relief therapies including labor epidural analgesia
• Respond to emergencies with ACLS and perioperative support
• Educate trainees across disciplines
