Description of Service Opportunity: The 9th Grade Summer Program Principal, under the direction of the CRLS Principal and Leadership Team and in collaboration with school-based teachers, will be responsible for developing and overseeing both the Rise Up and Freshmen Academy Programs that support Incoming Freshmen students to strengthen their learning during a four-week summer learning period.
The Principal will be responsible for direct supervision of staff, including weekly group/staff check‑ins and one‑to‑one support as needed.
They will work with classroom teachers and appropriate support staff (subject area teachers, counselors) and Upper School/CRLS family liaisons to encourage student participation in the hybrid programming. The Principal will lead ongoing communication with families, with the support of the school administrator.
Prior to the start of Rise Up and the Freshman Academy learning period, the Principal will develop student schedules and teacher assignments with the CRLS Principal and Leadership Team. The Principal will orient summer teaching staff to program resources and facilitate curriculum alignment with DESE standards and the Falcon Block SEL curriculum model.
During the program, the Principal will support staff in addressing day‑to‑day needs, including student behavioral issues and engagement.
The Principal will maintain all records, including daily student attendance, accurate time sheets, and payment vouchers.
Qualifications: Master’s Degree and experience working with high school students in academic support/youth development settings. CRLS staff member preferred.
Service agreement to be paid at the summer school principal rate of $60/hour, not to exceed $7,500 total (125 hours).
Length of Contract: July 6, 2026 through December 31, 2026
Contract Amount: Not exceed $7,500.00
Hourly Rate: Dependent upon collective bargaining agreement or individual hourly rate. Non‑exempt employees working more than 40 hours a week will be paid time and a half for hours over 40.
