Job summary

Central Power Systems & Services is seeking a Critical Power Technician in Las Vegas, NV to support standby generators, transfer switches, and switchgear. The role involves field service, overtime, and potential after-hours on-call rotations.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years with high-voltage generator maintenance and a solid background in electrical/mechanical diesel-powered systems. On-site work and travel are required, with a competitive benefits package offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical school preferred; AAS in Electrical Power Generator Tech is a plus.
• 2+ years in higher voltage generator maintenance (CAT, Kohler, Cummins).
• Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge of diesel-powered generators.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of critical power systems installation, start-up and commissioning.
• Perform diagnostic and repair procedures on PLCs, AC/DC, and switch gears.
• Perform scheduled maintenance on generators, transfer switches, and related equipment.
• Coordinate with installing electrical contractors.
• Oversee correction of issues from commissioning.
• Travel to off-site sites, including mining operations.
• Test and troubleshoot various sizes of generators.
