Job summary

Central Power Systems & Services in Missouri is seeking a Critical Power Technician to service emergency standby generators, transfer switches, switchgear and related accessories. The role involves field service with potential overtime and after-hours on-call rotations.

The normal shift is 7AM to 4PM, with overtime opportunities as needed. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel and gas engines, coordinate with electrical contractors, and grow your skills in a safety-minded, team-focused

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• AAS Electrical Power Generator Tech or technical schooling preferred.
• 2+ years of higher voltage generator maintenance experience.
• Electrical and mechanical knowledge of diesel/gas generators.
• Strong diagnostic skills and ability to work independently.
• Willingness to travel and be on-call as needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage critical power systems installation, start-up, and commissioning.
• Diagnose and repair PLCs, AC/DC systems and switchgear.
• Perform routine maintenance on generators, engines, and transfer switches.
• Coordinate with electrical contractors; oversee commissioning corrections.
• Adapt to off-site work and mining environments as required.
• Test and troubleshoot generators of various sizes.
