Job summary

Central Power Systems & Services is seeking a Critical Power Technician to service emergency standby generators, transfer switches, and switchgear. The role includes field service with overtime opportunities and after-hours on-call rotations. Ideal candidates have generator maintenance experience and a drive to grow skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduation from a Technical School preferred.
• AAS Electrical Power Generator Tech a big Plus.
• Military Experience is a Plus.
• 2 Years experience with higher voltage Generator Maintenance (CAT, Kohler, Cummins equipment).
• Electrical and mechanical knowledge of diesel-powered generators.
• 3+ Years Exp. Generator Maintenance.
• Willingness to Travel Overnight.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of critical power systems installation, start-up and commissioning.
• Perform diagnostic and repair procedures on all systems including PLCs, AC/DC, and switch gears.
• Perform scheduled maintenance on electric power generation equipment including gas and diesel engines, generators, and transfer switches.
• Coordination with installing electrical contractors.
• Oversee correction of issues arising from commissioning.
• Become familiar with working off-site and with mining companies.
• Testing and troubleshooting various sized generators.
