Job summary

Central Power Systems & Services in Texas is seeking a Critical Power Technician to service emergency standby generators, transfer switches, and related gear. The role includes field work with overtime and after-hours on-call rotation.

You will perform installation, start-up, commissioning, and diagnostics on CAT/Kohler/Cummins generators, overseeing contractor coordination and on-site operations. Eligible candidates have 2+ years of generator maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of generator maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience with high- and medium-voltage electrical systems a plus.
• Ability to diagnose and repair generator sets and transfer switches.
• Willingness to travel overnight and be on-call.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of critical power systems installation, start-up and commissioning.
• Perform diagnostic and repair procedures on all systems including PLCs, AC/DC, and switch gears.
• Perform scheduled maintenance on electric power generation equipment including gas and diesel engines, generators, and transfer switches.
• Coordination with installing electrical contractors.
• Oversee correction of issues arising from commissioning.
• Become familiar with working off-site and with mining companies.
• Testing and troubleshooting various sized generators.
