The Position:

We are seeking a Critical Operations Technician (COT) to support a local data center in Manassas, VA. The role involves maintaining mechanical, electrical, fire safety, and other data center systems, executing safety and operational programs, and managing day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities include:

• Implementing safety protocols across all data centers.
• Monitoring and maintaining electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
• Tracking operational data and providing feedback for improvements.
• Executing preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
• Managing system operations to ensure maximum efficiency and avoid outages.
• Overseeing power installations and system upgrades.
• Utilizing CMMS systems and solving technical problems.
• Maintaining inventory and equipment labeling.
• Providing customer support and incident response.
• Conducting facility tours and documenting issues.
• Developing procedures for maintenance activities.
• Performing other duties as required, including on-call support.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; 1-3 years experience in a data center or mission-critical environment.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems used in data centers.
• Experience with NFPA standards and building codes.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks under stress.
• Willingness to work outside normal hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Must pass background screening and be eligible to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications:

• US Navy Nuclear Engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
