Job summary

MITRE, a nonprofit engineering, applied research and technology organization, is seeking a skilled project coordinator for the Critical Infrastructure Protection Department. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, develop schedules, manage risks, and support sponsor engagements to deliver mission-critical projects onsite.

This role requires a bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years coordinating technical initiatives, with familiarity in systems engineering, OT/ICS, and cybersecurity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in project management, business administration, engineering, computer science, cybersecurity, information systems, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years coordinating technical projects or related activities.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering, cybersecurity, cyber-physical systems, OT, critical infrastructure, or R&D.
  • Ability to manage project schedules, deliverables, and documentation.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (Microsoft Office, MS Project, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain government security clearance; must be a U.S. citizen.
  • This position requires a minimum of 3 days on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate technical projects across multidisciplinary teams supporting critical infrastructure protection.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and status reports.
  • Support project planning activities, including scope definition and risk identification.
  • Facilitate communication among technical staff, sponsors, and stakeholders.
  • Track progress and assist in resolving scheduling and resource challenges.
  • Organize meetings, workshops, and sponsor engagements with documented outcomes.
  • Prepare project documentation, technical reports, and briefings.
  • Monitor budgets, funding allocations, and contract activities.
  • Collect and communicate project performance metrics for decision-making.
  • Coordinate configuration management and information sharing across teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project management processes and tools.
  • Ensure activities comply with policies, standards, and sponsor requirements.
