Job summary

Fluor is seeking a Critical Facilities Manager to lead the operations and maintenance of a mission-critical government data center. You will oversee safety, risk mitigation, and peak-performance of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and fire/life safety systems on your shift.

You will coordinate with government support personnel and third-party vendors, develop SOPs, and manage CMMS workflows to ensure reliable facility operations and compliance with applicable codes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus ten (10) years of progressive hands-on experience with critical equipment in complex, redundant environments
• Minimum of ten (10) years of supervisory experience in O&M of large, mission-critical buildings or environments
• Strong electrical and HVAC background including UPS, emergency power, chillers, cooling towers, and air handling units
• Ability to read and comprehend work orders, manuals, safety guides, and related materials to support operations
• Ability to input data into computerized maintenance and timekeeping databases and maintain shift logs
• Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance and work in shift-based hours (nights, weekends, holidays)

Responsibilities

• Manage a rotating shift of operators monitoring, controlling, and updating system control applications
• Assist in developing SOPs, operator aids, and training programs for complex mechanical, electrical, life-safety, and building control systems
• Ensure compliance with all safety, operating codes, and regulatory requirements
• Coordinate with CMMS (Maximo) for scheduling, dispatching, tracking, and reporting of MEP maintenance and repairs
• Coordinate with the Operations Manager to optimize monitoring systems for energy goals
• Maintain detailed shift logs and provide formal reports on events impacting the facility
• Communicate with client during planned shutdowns, outages, and degraded building conditions
• Oversee plant and substation configurations and alarm conditions; coordinate immediate responses
• Brief management on facilities issues, weather, and events affecting operations
• Perform other duties as required and maintain a team-oriented, high-quality work environment
