Job summary

Cornell University is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician II to join the Critical Care Service within CUHA. You will support clinicians, students, and house officers in caring for critically ill patients, coordinating advanced procedures, and mentoring learners in a fast-paced academic hospital.

Onsite in Ithaca, NY, this role emphasizes teamwork, teaching, and high-quality patient care in a 24/7 environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold an Associate's degree in veterinary technology or equivalent.
• New York State licensure or eligibility to become licensed in NYS.
• Demonstrated ability to promote a positive learning environment for students and clinicians.

Responsibilities

• Assist students and clinicians with morning and afternoon patient exams and treatments.
• Schedule, organize, set-up and assist with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Facilitate patient admission and discharge to/from care units for the Critical Care Service.
• Act as a mentor and teacher for students on rotation.
• Provide floating backup coverage to nursing care units and other services as assigned by the supervisor.
