Job summary

Premier Ambulance’s Critical Care Program in California is seeking experienced Critical Care Transport Nurses (RNs) to support high-acuity ambulance transfers between hospitals and facilities.

Candidates must hold an RN license in the applicable state, BLS and ACLS, with two years of CCU/ER/ICU experience within the past 24 months. Shifts are 10-, 11-, or 12-hour; overtime is paid after 8 hours, with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license in the applicable state.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Two years of critical care experience in ER/ICU within 24 months.
• CCRN, CEN or related certification preferred.
• CCT/transport experience preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe nursing care throughout critical care transports.
• Assess, monitor, and manage patients with complex and/or critical medical conditions.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and other treatments within scope of practice and protocols.
• Report any problems promptly to the CCT Manager.
• Manage advanced medical equipment and life-support therapies as appropriate.
• Collaborate with physicians, paramedics, respiratory therapists, hospital staff, and others.
• Maintain accurate patient care documentation and transport records.
• Communicate effectively with sending/receiving facilities, patients, and families.
• Follow Premier Ambulance policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor EMTs on the crew and maintain readiness of the transport unit.
