Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in North Carolina required.
• Current North Carolina EMT certification or obtain within 1 year of hire required.
• Maintain current NCOEMS continuing education requirements.
• Current ACLS, PALS, ITLS or Advanced Trauma Certification and NRP required.
• Completion of NIMS 100, 200, 700 required.
• CAMTS recognized nursing specialty certification within 1 year of employment required.
• Obtain Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) within 6 months of employment required.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care during transport in coordination with CCEMT-P.
• Maintain ACLS, PALS, NRP, ITLS knowledge and procedures.
• Document transport records timely and accurately.
• Participate in the PI process reviewing protocols and patient records.
• Suggest improvements and address transfer barriers in EMS.”
• Facilitate for families’ needs during patient transfers.
• Assist with loading/unloading patient and equipment onto ambulance.
• Coordinate with the Critical Care Paramedic to ensure information accompanies the patient.
• Conduct follow-up visits for progress reports and referrals.
