Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Health System is seeking a registered nurse for the 7VP unit in Fayetteville, NC. The role supports a 50-bed Adult ICU caring for cardiac, medical, neurosurgical, surgical, transplant and trauma patients.

Relocation assistance is available. Requires an RN license in NC or a Compact state and 1+ year ICU/critical care experience; new grads encouraged to apply. The team emphasizes empathy, teamwork and high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in nursing required; Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• Current licensure in North Carolina as a Registered Nurse or Compact state licensure.
• New Graduate Nurses are encouraged to apply.
• Greater than one year of experience in ICU, Med-Surg, critical care, or emergency department.
• Strong empathy, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
• Possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, high attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
• Knowledge of age-specific physiological and psychosocial needs of patients typically served.
• Speech and auditory acuity for communication of patient needs; standing, walking, lifting.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the patient and identifies patient care needs.
• Uses patient assessment information to organize appropriate patient care.
• Plans, organizes, implements, and evaluates patient care.
• Facilitates a safe environment.
• Maintains required competencies.
• Functions as charge nurse as assigned.
• Maintains an accurate and relevant record of patient care.
• Administers medication as ordered by physician.
