Zusammenfassung

The Critical Care Technician (CCT) supports RNs in acute care at Froedtert Health, providing age-appropriate care in a culturally sensitive manner. Reports to the Nurse Manager of the assigned unit and the on-duty RN.

Completion of the Critical Care Tech course and BLS within 90 days are required. Education includes a High School diploma or equivalent; Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification or enrollment in a nursing program with documentation is required, along with arrhythmia recognition

Job Summary

The Critical Care Technician (CCT) assists the Registered Nurse with delegated tasks related to the acute care of the patient. Provides age appropriate care in a culturally and ethically sensitive manner. Reports to the Nurse Manager of the assigned unit and the RN's on duty on each assigned shift. Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION REQUIRED: High School diploma or equivalent is required.

EDUCATION PREFERRED: None.

TRAINING REQUIRED: Completion of the Critical Care Tech course or equivalency within 6 months of hire date. Successful completion of a skill competency checklist (validated by a Registered Nurse) is required. Successful completion of arrhythmia recognition course and successful orientation to the monitor room to work as a monitor technician is required within 6 months of hire for staff in the FWBH MCU and the FMFH 2nd floor MCU. Candidates with prior monitor technician experience may complete a written competency test to meet this requirement.

TRAINING PREFERRED: None.

SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: Ability to read, write and communicate verbal and written communication.

SPECIAL SKILLS PREFERRED: None.

LICENSURE REQUIRED: State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification is required, otherwise must be currently enrolled in a nursing program and able to provide documentation from an accredited school for professional nurses indicating successful completion of the basic nursing course which encompass all of the criteria noted by the State of Wisconsin administrative code and a minimum experience of one acute care nursing medical/surgical clinical rotation. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
