Job summary

Froedtert Health in Manitowoc, WI is seeking a Critical Care Technician (CCT) to support registered nurses in acute patient care on a 7p-11p shift. This on-site position is for 0.4 FTE with standard hours of 4.00 per week and Shift 3 responsibilities.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, CC Tech training within 6 months, WI Nursing Assistant Certification (or active nursing program enrollment), and BLS within 90 days. Excellent communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of Critical Care Tech course or equivalent within 6 months of hire.
• Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification required, or enrollment in a nursing program with documentation.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.

Job Summary:
The Critical Care Technician (CCT) assists the Registered Nurse with delegated tasks related to the acute care of the patient. Provides age appropriate care in a culturally and ethically sensitive manner. Reports to the Nurse Manager of the assigned unit and the RN's on duty on each assigned shift. Other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: None. EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: None. EDUCATION REQUIRED: High School diploma or equivalent is required.
EDUCATION PREFERRED: None. TRAINING REQUIRED: Completion of the Critical Care Tech course or equivalency within 6 months of hire date. Successful completion of a skill competency checklist (validated by a Registered Nurse) is required. Successful completion of arrhythmia recognition course and successful orientation to the monitor room to work as a monitor technician is required within 6 months of hire for staff in the FWBH MCU and the FMFH 2nd floor MCU. Candidates with prior monitor technician experience may complete a written competency test to meet this requirement. TRAINING PREFERRED: None. SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: Ability to read, write and communicate verbal and written communication.
SPECIAL SKILLS PREFERRED: None. LICENSURE REQUIRED: State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification is required, otherwise must be currently enrolled in a nursing program and able to provide documentation from an accredited school for professional nurses indicating successful completion of the basic nursing course which encompass all of the criteria noted by the State of Wisconsin administrative code and a minimum experience of one acute care nursing medical/surgical clinical rotation. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
