Job summary

Capital Health System, Inc. is seeking a patient care team member to assist with direct and indirect patient care. You will perform phlebotomy, glucometer testing, and EKGs as required, while supporting RN-directed tasks and clerical duties in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and EMT or related training is valued. AHA BLS is required, with CNA preferred or UAP training within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalency.
• Experience: EMT or EMT Academy, military medic, PCA in acute care or equivalent, nursing school clinicals.
• Other Credentials: AHA BLS; non-licensed must obtain 4 hours stroke CE annually if assigned to certain units.
• Knowledge and Skills: Proficient in English, verbal and written communication.
• Special Training: CNA certification preferred or Capital Health UAP Training program within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provides for safety aspects of patient care and follows falls precautions.
• Assists with personal care under RN direction (bathing, oral care, incontinence care).
• Performs phlebotomy, glucometer testing and EKGs as required.
• Performs clerical, computer system tasks and supply maintenance.
• Records accurate observations in patient records and reports to RN.
• Assists with CPR under RN/Physician supervision.
• Maintains a clean, organized unit and proper stocking of supplies.
