Job summary

AdventHealth in Denver, CO is seeking a Night shift Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join a dedicated care team. This full-time role provides bedside patient support under RN supervision in an acute care unit.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, CPR/BLS and EMT certifications are not listed here but may be required per facility policy. 1+ PCT experience is preferred, with emphasis on patient-facing care and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
• 1+ applicable PCT experience [Preferred]
• Previous bedside patient care in an acute care unit, unit secretary, monitor technician, or equivalent medical experience [Preferred]

Responsibilities

• Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies.
• Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Follows prescribed isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of protective equipment, performs handwashing according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.
• Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrades skills continuously.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Assists in the delivery of patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Documents and reports all procedures in accordance with department policy.
• Participates in obtaining a nursing history and reports abnormalities to the registered nurse.
• Assists in identifying patient needs
• Performs other duties as assigned.
