Job summary

Capital Health in New Jersey is seeking a patient-care support role to assist the professional staff with direct and indirect patient care. duties include phlebotomy, glucometer testing, and EKG responsibilities as required, under RN supervision.

Qualified candidates will have EMT experience or CNA training preferred, a high school diploma, and current BLS certification. The role offers benefits and a competitive pay range for a full-time position.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: EMT, military medic, PCA in acute care or LTC, or nursing school clinicals.
• Other credentials: AHA BLS; non-licensed must obtain by end of orientation period.
• Stroke CE: 4 hours annually if assigned to specific units.
• Knowledge: Proficient in English, verbal and written.
• Special training: CNA certification preferred or Capital Health UAP Training within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provides for safety aspects of patient care and falls precautions.
• Assists with personal care and daily living under RN direction.
• Assists with CPR under RN/Physician supervision.
• Collects specimens such as stool, urine and sputum timely.
• Stocks supplies and maintains a clean, organized unit.
• Documents observations in patient records and reports findings to RN.
