Job summary

OU Health in Oklahoma City is seeking a Clinical Support Assistant to work in the Critical Care Stepdown unit. Under supervision of a registered nurse, you perform routine patient care tasks and support the care team.

Responsibilities include monitoring patients, recording vital signs, assisting with admissions and transports, keeping rooms clean, and restocking supplies. Education requirement HS Diploma or GED; BLS certified on hire.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic nursing techniques and procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to maintain effective working relations with others.

Responsibilities

• Monitors patient health status under supervision of RN and implements care plans.
• Carries out physician and nursing orders within scope.
• Takes and records vital signs and weights; performs glucose monitoring.
• Sets up telemetry, collects specimens, and applies dressings as directed.
• Assists with admissions, discharges and transfers; transports patients as needed.
