Job summary

MetroHealth in Ohio seeks a Registered Nurse to join the Critical Care Step-Down Unit (7 West). The unit supports patients with congestive heart failure, COPD, DKA and sepsis, using enhanced technology and a 5:1 nurse-to-patient ratio.

You will work with PCNAs, interns, providers, and therapists to deliver critical care in a collaborative environment. The shift is 7a–7p with rotating weekends/holidays and a bi-weekly 72-hour schedule.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the Critical Care Step-Down Unit (7 West) with a 5:1 patient ratio.
• Interpret EKGs and monitor cardiac status.
• Perform bedside procedures and manage ventilator/NIV support as needed.
• Collaborate with PCNAs, nurses, providers, and therapy teams to ensure patient safety and timely care.
