Job summary

University of Michigan Health-Sparrow in Lansing, MI is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide comprehensive respiratory care, including critical care support across neonatal to geriatric patients. You will apply physician-approved protocols and work within a Code Blue team.

The role requires NBRC credentialing, Michigan licensure, and BLS certification; ACC/NBRC NPS certification is preferred. Full-time hours with a sign-on bonus are offered.

Qualifications

• Credentialed RRT by National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Michigan license in good standing
• Current BLS certification
• ACC or NBRC NPS certification preferred
• 1 year of critical care experience (preferred)
• Graduate of a Respiratory Therapy program

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and initiate emergency and non-emergency procedures per guidelines.
• Administer aerosols, support therapy, and various respiratory treatments.
• Operate and monitor life-support devices in critical care areas; participate in CPR.
• Document patient care data and physician orders as required.
• Maintain electronic records and patient charges accurately.
• Perform RT equipment maintenance and environmental safety tasks.
• Assist in transporting critical patients and support physicians in procedures.
• Instruct students, staff, and patients on respiratory procedures.
