Job summary

Atrium Health's Medical ICU (MICU) in Macon, GA seeks a registered nurse to provide expert care to critically ill medical patients. The MICU is a 14-bed unit focusing on complex conditions such as respiratory failure, renal and diabetic complications. New to critical care nurses can enroll in the Critical Care Academy (CCA).

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with privileges in the state(s) of practice; BLS required.
• Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
• BLS certification required; additional certifications may be required based on specialty.
• Telehealth/telenursing may require licensure in client location.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care with patients and families.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, and collaborates with the care team.
• Upholds a safety culture and evaluates outcomes.
• May administer medications and therapies per protocols.
• Maintains accurate EHR documentation and appropriate delegation.
• May float to other units as needed.
