Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at Navicent Health Medical Center. The MICU is a 14-bed unit focusing on critically ill patients with complex medical conditions.

The position is full-time at 36 hours per week with a night shift (7 PM–7 AM) and weekend requirements. A sign-on bonus is available for eligible applicants, and new-to-critical-care nurses are enrolled in the Critical Care Academy (CCA).

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• RN license with privileges in the state(s) of practice (multi-state compact acceptable).
• Typically 1 year of clinical nursing experience in relevant area.

Responsibilities

• Engage in governance and quality initiatives to improve care and apply evidence-based practices.
• Assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care using the nursing process.
• Monitor patient conditions, adjust care plans, and collaborate with the care team.
• Maintain accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• Float to other units as needed to meet patient care needs.
